- We collect your state and age group when you submit a response. We do not require your name or phone number to participate.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with any political party or government body.
- Sharing this site via WhatsApp or other social buttons only shares a link — it does not send your response data anywhere.
- Some technical processing (bot detection, hosting) is handled by third-party service providers listed below.
1 Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how bharatratnaformodi.com ("the Site," "we," "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you visit the Site or submit a response. It applies to all visitors, including those participating from outside India.
This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Use & Disclaimer, which governs your use of the Site more broadly.
2 Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information when you use the Site:

We do not require your full name, phone number, email address, or postal address to submit a response.
Please do not enter Aadhaar numbers, passwords, financial account details, health information, or other sensitive information into the optional comment field or any other free-text field on this Site.
3 How We Use Your Information
- To publish an aggregated, non-identifying count of responses (e.g., by state or age group);
- To detect duplicate or automated submissions using device and browser signals, as described in our Terms of Use;
- To maintain the security and integrity of the Site;
- To display your optional public comment, if you choose to submit one.
We do not use your information for political targeting, profiling, or advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to any third party.
Public results are shown in aggregated form only (for example, response counts by state or age group). We do not display your individual name, phone number, or email address alongside your response — the only exception is the optional public comment feature described above, which is entirely within your control.
4 Sharing With Third Parties
We do not share your personal information with any political party, government body, or the Bharat Ratna selection committee. We do use a limited number of third-party service providers to operate the Site:
- Bot/spam protection (Google reCAPTCHA) — analyzes technical signals such as IP address and browser behavior to detect automated submissions. See Google's Privacy Policy for how reCAPTCHA processes data.
- Hosting & infrastructure provider (Hostinger) — stores Site data on our behalf.
- Analytics (None currently in use) — used to understand aggregate traffic patterns, not individual identities.
Social share buttons (WhatsApp, etc.): These buttons open a share dialog on your own device using a link to this Site. Clicking "share" does not transmit your response data, phone number, or any personal information to WhatsApp or any other platform — it only shares the page link and, where applicable, publicly visible page text.
5 Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy:

6 Cookies & Similar Technologies
The Site may use cookies or similar technologies for None beyond what reCAPTCHA requires. These do not track you across other websites for advertising purposes.

Depending on your location, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and to raise a concern with the relevant data protection authority in your jurisdiction. You may also withdraw an optional public comment at any time.

8 Children's Privacy
This Site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Age group is self-reported and not independently verified; if we become aware that a submission was made by a child, we will remove it.
9 Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the information we process, including:
- HTTPS/TLS — secure, encrypted connections enforced across the Site.
- Access control — administrative access to response data is restricted to authorized personnel.
- Data minimization — we collect only what's needed for the purposes described in this Policy.
- Duplicate/fraud protection — anti-bot and duplicate-submission controls, as described in our Terms of Use.
- Database protection — access credentials and stored data are secured.
- Monitoring — security events and service issues are reviewed and addressed.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10 International Data Transfers
Because this Site accepts submissions from Non-Resident Indians and international supporters, your information may be processed on servers located in Hostinger [Hosted on cloud services], which may differ from your own country. By using the Site, you consent to this transfer.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Effective date" at the top of this page reflects the date this Policy last changed. Material changes will be indicated on this page.
